A concise and informative session hosted by Lakehub at the lakeside city became the talk of town after Graham of Africastalking briskly dissected new technologies in the tech world.
It all went down as a tri-tech training with the morning hours session focusing on web SMS management. This has been mind boggling paradigm to software developers but now – thanks to the training- there is an elite group of programmers in Kisumu who can swiftly handle complicated SMS messaging applications!
A well served luncheon would spoil the advance programming mood of the knowledge seeking lads who quickly gormandized without too much royalty, creating ample time for the afternoon USSD and Airtime dispensing applications. Some took lunch as they were tweaking and optimizing their already running piece of software.
These sessions were all practical. Everyone remembered bringing their own laptops (BTOLing). In fact, the ratio of laptops to programmers in the training room was 1:1.x as some brought two just in case the usual idiosyncrasies of frequent black-out would strike. It was just a pure intensive coding training where current technologies are employed. The “romantic” touch command became handy 🙂
Part of the training was aired live via periscope @OBrienOtieno for those who had attending interest but travelled out of town. The whole package wrapped up the year as a bi-gift for Christmas and a focused New Year.
